Bio: Erine Gray

Erine is a writer--yet he doesn't get paid to do that yet. He's currently finishing up his first novel: LEAVING UPSTATE. It's a triumph-over-adversity story about a multi-generational struggle towards the American Dream. The story follows Pat Bell, the main character, during his senior year in high school as he decides to either leave his hometown and go off to college or to stay home and help the family. (Note to Literary Agents -- since publishing is so difficult and I don't know anyone in "the biz" -- If you are one, or know one, contact me!)

Erine's interests lie in writing, reading and running. He plays harmonica too, but not very well. Until his hobbies play out and produce a liveable income, he works as a public policy analyst and generally enjoys it.

Erine was born and raised in Upstate New York in a town called Olean. He went off to college and graduated with a degree in Economics from Indiana University. After college, he spent a few years as a software consultant--a programmer. But when an assignment landed him in New York City on September 11, 2001, he decided to change careers. He got his Master's Degree at the LBJ School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas and then went into a new line of work.

As a way to try and get in shape, he started running after an 11-year hiatus. This site tells his story. He hopes you enjoy.
