Freescale Results: I Ran A Marathon Today

Not sure it's quite set in yet. But it happened. I have some splits that I'll punch in later. But I'll give you my time: 4:15:04.

First, it was like I was drunk this afternoon. I just woke up from sleeping for a few hours and had that feeling like: what happened. I drifted in and out. Got up and went to the bathroom. Then did it again.

Second, Official Results: here.

Last, thanks. I owe a ton of people thanks for all the help and encouragement along the way. Almost nine months, eating dinner with Mehul, Sara and Byron I told them about my idea to start running again and write about it. To be honest my first real goal was to lose a little weight. Then it went on from there.

So in no particular order, thanks to everyone that encouraged me, gave me hell when I slacked, ran with me and basically couldn't have accomplished this goal without. Thanks Mehul, Byron, Mark, Amanda F., Muna, John, Mike, Becky, Loulia, Jaime, Kelly, Sharla, Ron O, Dave, Amanda N., Emily, Greg, Sara and anyone else I'm not thinking of.

Special thanks to Muna for the great advice throughout. Especially when it came to the long distances. It helped me continue my training during a crucial time when I was deciding to do this.

Special thanks to John, Loulia and Mehul. Knowing you guys would be there kept my head up through the crucial 17-20 miles. Mark, thanks for jogging with me at mile 11. I was looking forward to seeing a familiar face. To everyone that came out, thanks for getting up early. It's great having friends like you. Becky, Mike, Madison and Mia. Thanks for coming out. It meant a lot that you were there. Greg, thanks for your advice and encouragement and for encouraging me to go for it.

And last but not least, thanks Terin. You were a star and a fantastic coach. Thanks for doing everything from listening to my gripes about injuries to running miles 20-25 with me. You went above and beyond and your advice made a huge difference. Thanks, thanks and thanks!!

I'm not sure how I'm going to feel tomorrow. I'm a little scared. But right now, I feel pretty darn good. I ran a marathon today. Holy cow.
